A 44 year old St. Catharines man will be in court next week for a preliminary hearing on a murder charge.
Justin Kuijer is charged with the murder of his stepson, 7 year old Nathan Dumas, inside a Queenston Street apartment in March of last year.
He is also facing an attempted murder charge after a bank employee at the RBC on Martindale Road was stabbed on the same day.
He then fled the city and was the subject of a five day manhunt that ended in Kenora.
The hearing will determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.
