Fuel prices have soared in Niagara, reaching 124.9 at some stations across the region and the cost is expected to climb even higher.
Dan McTeague with gasbuddy.com com warned last week gas prices would shoot up amid fallout from Hurricane Harvey and that we might see prices increase 5-to-7 cents.
But McTeague says these double digit prices have never happened before in such a short period of time.
He also says prices will likely go up an additional 7 cents tomorrow.
A number of refineries in the path of hurricane Harvey have been forced to temporarily shutter their operations because of flooding and damage concerns.
McTeague says he expects prices to stay between $1.25 to $1.35 until mid to late September.
