After some controversy, the Pride flag is flying in West Lincoln.
About 60 people attended today's flag raising ceremony, including Pride Niagara Chair Enzo De Divitiis.
West Lincoln Councillor Christopher Coady, CAO Beverly Hendry, and Confidential Secretary to Mayor & CAO Jacquie Thrower were there to represent the town.
West Lincoln was the only municipality in Niagara not to fly the flag at the beginning of June.
The town said it was a miscommunication, that they missed the email from Pride Niagara.
In an interview with 610CKTB's Matt Holmes, Mayor Dave Bylsma expressed he didn't think the town should have to fly the flag.
At a special council meeting earlier this week, West Lincoln council voted to fly the flag 5-2.
Mayor Bylsma, and councillor Harold Jonker, who voted against raising the flag, did not attend today's event.
