Pride Niagara travelled to municipalities across the region to raise the Pride flag.
This was the 13th annual Pride flag raising ceremony for the region.
The day kicked off in Port Colborne, as they raised the flag for the first time. Then moved to Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, and Welland.
Lincoln was the next stop, as flag was raised there for the first time. Then Grimsby, followed by the flag raising at St. Catharines City Hall where the ceremony took place.
Speakers, including representatives from Niagara Regional Police and from the office of MP Chris Bittle, spoke about how proud they are of Niagara for its inclusivity.
St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik spoke about his compassionate city initiative, and how Pride is an integral part of that.
Pride Week kicked off on Saturday at the Meridian Centre, with events all leading up the the annual Pride in the Park at Montebello this Saturday, June 10th.
