Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is sending support to the City of St. Catharines after a shooting Thursday that injured three people.
The Niagara Regional Police now say the shooting that happened just before 4 p.m. in the Church and Niagara street area was targeted.
Just after 11 p.m. Thursday evening, Trudeau retweeted a tweet by Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale, adding
"Thank you to all the police and first responders working diligently on this tonight. We’re thinking of everyone affected & monitoring the situation closely."
Goodale's tweet came just after 8 p.m. "I am deeply concerned about today's shooting in St. Catharines. This situation is under investigation by the Niagara Regional Police Service @NiagRegPolice. Residents are encouraged to follow their direction. Our thoughts and prayers are with victims and their families."
The NRP continue to search for two suspects in the shooting.
