Project "High Flyer" is really taking off in Niagara.
Over the past four days, Niagara Regional Police have been on the look out for drivers going 30 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit.
Officers were nabbing drivers mainly in West Lincoln, but also in some rural parts of St. Catharines, Thorold, Pelham and Wainfleet.
36 tickets were handed out in total.
Officers caught two drivers driving in excess of 50 km/hr over the posted speed limit.
On Saturday, February 11, a 17 year old, G2 novice driver from Fonthill, was stopped and charged by police after she was found to be driving 136 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone on Regional Road 24.
Just a couple of hours later, a 25 year old man from Smithville was stopped on the same road for driving 134 km/hr.
In addition to the speeding charges, these two drivers were also charged with Stunt Driving and subsequently had their drivers licence suspended and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
The Niagara Regional Police want to remind all drivers to slow down and comply with all traffic signs.
