Niagara Falls property owners will see their taxes go up this year.
City council approving the 2017 operating budget which includes increased spending of $615,000 dollars.
To make up the shortfall property taxes will increase by 1.79 percent which means another $55.15 will be added to the yearly tax bill for the average home valued at $235,000.
Much of the increased spending this year will go to pay for public transit improvements.
