A St. Catharines animal hospital, whose owner was found guilty of abuse, is expected to re-open its doors this week.
Dr. Mahavir Rekhi had his licence suspended by the Ontario College of Veterinarians in August after being found guilty of professional misconduct.
Rekhi had been caught on video abusing animals in his care.
Rekhi told 610 CKTB News in November that he "doesn't run away from things" and would re-open Skyway Animal Hospital once his credentials were re-instated in February.
The hospital has attracted protesters in recent months, some of them pelting the building with eggs and feces.
Mike Robinson, whose dog Molly is among Dr. Rekhi's victims, has been part of a core group of demonstrators who have regularly picketed the address on weekends. Another protest is planned for Monday.
Robinson says "We are hoping to really rocket today and a get a bunch of people out there. We're going to be out there with our signs, we're going to have a big banner. And we're going to be letting these people know what's going on. It's amazing how many people still don't know."
Robinson says there have been some interior renovations done at Skyway Animal Hospital and a security camera added outside.
Investigators with the Lincoln County Humane Society carried out a search warrant at the hospital in early December but have not laid any charges.
