Province developing app that can upload data from your car to government computers

The province announcing Ontario motorists will be off the hook paying the 30 bucks every other year for a Drive Clean inspection in April.

We will still have to go for a check but the province will pick up the tab.

However the Toronto Star says the province is developing a new smartphone app that would upload data for new vehicles computer systems to the government.

Positive results mean the car's owner would then get automatic clearance for a license plate renewal.

Right now about one in four new cars have the systems built into them.
