Opposition critics say a one-million-dollar electric vehicle centre opened by the provincial government is just a ``pet project'' for Environment Minister Glen Murray.
Visitors to the new centre in Toronto can learn how electric vehicles work and even take one for a test drive.
Murray says the Plug'n Drive Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre is the first of its kind and its goal is to convince people to switch to electric vehicles in order to fight climate change.
P-C Environment Critic Ted Arnott says people who are interested in such vehicles can just go to auto dealerships for test drives and information.
