A Toronto police officer convicted in the fatal shooting a troubled teen on a streetcar more than three years ago is expected to have his appeal heard by the province's highest court in October.
Constable James Forcillo was convicted of attempted murder in the death of Sammy Yatim and was sentenced last July to six years in prison.
His bail has been extended until October 1st, with his case scheduled to be heard the following day at the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Justice Edward Then said that in letting loose a second volley of shots on Yatim in July 2013, Forcillo committed an ``egregious breach of trust.''
