While the head of the Association of Municipalities says they welcome talks with the province over the sale of recreational pot, there may be a problem getting everyone in on the discussion.
Pat Vanini says it may be difficult for municipalities to get engaged in talks over the next few months because of the October municipal election.
She also notes new councils won't be sworn in until December.
On Monday, the province announced cannabis would be sold in private retail stores and cities and towns would be given a one time window to opt out of hosting pot shops within their boundaries.
