Watch out the roads are about to get a little more crowded.
The province announcing yesterday it is starting a five year pilot project , beginningJanuary 1st, that will make e-scooter ride sharing services legal on Ontario roads.
However it will be up to each municipality to decide whether to give the plan the green light.
E-scooter drivers will have to be at least 16 years old and must wear a helmet.
All vehicles have to be equipped with a horn or bell and a front and rear light.
Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney says the move will help businesses expand and offer people more options to get around safely.
