We're getting a better look at what students will be learning in sex-ed classes this school year.
The provincial government has released the new curriculum that had been promised by Premier Doug Ford while on the election trail.
Students will learn about gender identity and expression around the age of 13, while being introduced to the concepts of online safety and consent in Grade One.
Parents will have the option of pulling their child out of some sex-ed lessons, as long as 5 days notice is given.
The changes come after some parents voiced concerns about a Liberal lesson plan introduced 4 years ago.
Government officials are expected to provide more details around 8 a.m. this morning.
The new sex-ed curriculum is availableĀ online on the Ministry of Education website.
