The Hamilton Spectator reporting this morning the province and the OLG are trying to block a judge's ruling ordering former Premier Dalton McGuinty to testify in a lawsuit brought forward by some Ontario horse breeders.
It's all over the decision by the province in 2012 to end the slots at racetrack program, a move that cost overĀ 200 jobs at the Fort Erie slots.
The horse breeders are suing the province for $65 million saying they were unfairly cut out of the program which saw slot revenues shared with the province, breeders and racetracks.
This week the province and OLG filed a motion to appeal the decision by a judge in Guelph ordering McGuinty, his former finance minister and 11 of their senior staffers to testify in the lawsuit.
