A short lived Christmas break for MPP's as the provincial government recalls the legislature today.
A statement from Government House Leader Todd Smith says politicians will be gathering at Queen's Park this afternoon due to 'uncertainty created by the impasse between Ontario Power Generation and the Power Workers' Union.'
Politicians are expected to introduce legislation ensuring around 6,000 power workers remain on the job after the union rejected a contract offer from the utility.
The union would be in a legal strike position as of Boxing Day.
