There are some big bugs to be worked out with our new national public alert system.
Tests yesterday on the system, that sends emergency alerts to our cellphones, failed in both Quebec and Ontario.
System operator Pelmorex says the Quebec problem was due to a computer programming error.
The company is still trying to figure out why Bell and Telus customers didn't receive alerts during the afternoon test in Ontario.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale weighed in on the issue, saying while the glitches were serious but noting that's what tests are for.
Tests will take place in all the other provinces tomorrow.
