The city of St. Catharines' longest-running free family event, Pumpkinville, takes place this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm.
The kids can enjoy hay diving, face painting, crafts, games, and more.
The first 500 families will receive a free pumpkin to use to enter the pumpkin carving contests. Carving tools will be supplied. Judging begins at 1 p.m.
Stakes, straw and clothing will also be available at the scarecrow building station.
Families are encouraged to bring their own old clothing and other accessories to give their scarecrow creations a little more style.
Admission to Pumpkinville is free. Some activities, such as family photos in the barn, food and beverages, include a small fee.
Parking is limited at Happy Rolph’s but free parking will be available at select nearby businesses.
Signs will indicate which parking lots are available.
A free park-and-ride shuttle bus service from the Grantham Lions Club, located at 732 Niagara St., to Happy Rolph's will also be available from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Pumpkinville also offers a last chance to visit the farm animals of Happy Rolph’s.
The animals return to their homes in mid-October.
