Push to amalgamate fire services across Niagara

While the Niagara Region is moving ahead with its plan to amalgamate transit services in three municipalities, a proposal to combine fire services is on the radar.

The issue coming up at Niagara Falls council this week, with councillor Joyce Morocco intitiating discussion on the idea.

Morocco noting almalgamating fire departments might be a way to save money.

Council directing staff to look into the proposal to see if there would be any cost savings.
