Let's put the hammer down and crack down on drunken mob-like student parties in Thorold.
That's the word from Councillor Jim Handley who joined CKTB saying these student parties are a regular occurrence, and he wants to bring a motion to council to crack down on these parties at tomorrow night's meeting.
This all stems from a party Friday night that was filmed by a homeowner and posted on social media.
Sam Middleton tells CKTB a mob of Brock students held a massive party in her neighbourhood Friday night.
Middleton posted video of the "chaos" following the party that was being held 5 homes down from her home on Winterberry Boulevard.
The party was in full swing at 11pm and police were called to shut it down.
Middleton says her frustration is with property managers and landlords who neglect the student rental properties.
She says garbage and flyers litter the lawns and no one cares.
Middleton says Brock has promised to clean up today, but so far no one has arrived.
Brock University issued a statement saying it "regrets the negative impact" a homecoming party had in a Thorold neighbourhood.
Police say they received only two noise complaints.
They broke up the party and two bylaw tickets were issued.
In a statement, Brock says it "does not condone the disruptive actions of any students who took part."
