The Niagara construction company that now owns the controversial Port Tower development is sharing its vision for the property.
Tom Rankin, the CEO of Rankin Construction tells CKTB buying the site seemed like a natural fit since they have already purchased the legion property close by.
Rankin says as a local resident he wants to see the community thrive and that was a factor in his decision.
He wants to incorporate historical factors in the development including incorporating the old jail.
His team has already drawn up some sketches for the property which includes some retail shops on the ground level and condos above.
Rankin says it will take two years to get shovels in the ground, unless the city works hard with them to get things fast tracked.
Lawyers are still working on finalizing the final sale, and they still need court approval.
