Honda is expected to recall around one million vehicle in North America due to continued issues with airbag inflators.
There have been previous recalls for vehicles containing Takata airbags in the past due to concerns that chemicals used to inflate the bags deteriorates over time and can cause explosions.
At least 23 people have died worldwide with hundreds more reportedly injured.
Affected Honda models include:
- Honda Accord (2001-2007)
- CR-V (2002-2006)
- Civic (2001-2005)
- Element (2003-2010)
- Odyssey (2002-2004)
- Pilot (2003-2008)
- Ridgeline (2006)
Affected Acura models include:
- MDX (2003-2006)
- EL (2001-2005)
- TL (2002-2003)
- CL (2003)
