AAA says the number of Americans traveling by car for the Fourth of July holiday will hit a record high this year, fuelled by a growing economy and relatively low gasoline prices.
The nation's largest motorists' advocacy group projects a record 37.5 million people will drive 50 miles or more from home during the holiday period that stretches from June 30 to July 4.
That would break last year's record of 36.5 million, and mark the 4th consecutive year of increased motor travel for the Independence Day holiday.
