A record setting year for the 13th annual Rankin Cancer Run in St. Catharines yesterday.
More than 14,000 people laced up to raise funds supporting cancer programs in Niagara.
When the last drop of sweat fell a record $1,050,000 was raised, $50,000 more than last years race.
All of the money stays in Niagara to support Cancer programs.
Last year the run donated $500,000 to the Walker Family Cancer Centre, $200,000.00 to Wellspring Niagara, $80,000.00 to Hotel Dieu Shaver
Hospital, $50,000.00 to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, $50,000.00 to Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls, $40,000.00 to
Welland General Hospital, $40,000.00 to Port Colborne Hospital and $40,000.00 to Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie.
