It's the kind of record that a lot of people in Saskatchewan probably aren't that thrilled about breaking.
Environment Canada is recording record snowfalls in several communities, including the city of Saskatoon.
About 20-centimetres had fallen there by midnight, which is well above the 100-year records of between 5 and 13 centimetres.
The winter-like conditions are expected to taper off in Saskatchewan by Saturday or Sunday.
But Environment Canada is forecasting heavy snowfall to continue in northern parts of Manitoba and recommends postponing travel.
