Red light cameras could be going up in critical intersections in Niagara

Niagara is moving a step closer to red light cameras.

Public works will be bringing a report to council this Thursday which recommends cameras in the region.

Carolyn Ryall is the director of transportation services and says if it's approved, the next step is to bring a consultant on board to develop a plan.

The consultant would pick 'critical intersections' known for collisions and fatal crashes to select where the cameras should be placed.
