Another top bureaucrat is leaving the Niagara Region.
Jason Burgess, the Treasurer and Acting Commissioner for the region, is leaving to take a post with MNP, a national accounting and business consulting firm.
Burgess joined the region in 2014 as its Director of Procurement and Strategic Acquisition.
He joins a long list of top regional managers who have left in the last few years.
In the last year, the region has lost its clerk and deputy clerk, along with the woman who handled Freedom of Information requests.
In 2016, the region's CAO Harry Schlange quit citing problems with the leadership and behaviour of regional council.
Last year, Niagara's top cop, Chief Jeff McGuire took an early retirement reportedly at the urging of the Police Services Board.
