Niagara Regional Council will be trying to tackle on ongoing issue of leaking information.
Confidentiality has been an ongoing issue at regional council.
During last night's meeting St. Catharines Regional Councillor Bruce Timms said he has lost all confidence in 'confidential information' while noting he doesn't blame the media for following what leaks they get.
Several councillors spoke out against the prevalent problem with a lack of confidentiality.
Port Colborne Regional Councillor Dave Barrick first brought forward the idea, asking council to consider requesting an Ombudsman's investigation.
At the end of the discussion, council decided to have Western University Professor Andrew Sancton, who is currently conducting a regional governance review, take a closer look at the issue.
