Niagara Regional Council has voted to suspend St. Catharines Regional Councillor Andy Petrowski's pay from November 1st to November 30th.
The move is in response to an Integrity Commissioner's report that found the councillor responsible for sending out a pornographic image from his government email back in May of 2017.
Ahead of last night's decision by council, Petrowski sent a letter to councillors and regional staff asking that they not suspend his pay as it would cause him significant duress.
Petrowski has been on an unexplained medical leave, with pay, since Dec. 4 of 2017.
He has publicly stated he has no plans to seek re-election in October's municipal election.
