Niagara Regional Councillors are set to meet in another special session today at 5:30 p.m.
Chair Alan Caslin called the special session early last week to receive an update on an investigation approved at the July 26th meeting and to receive legal advice on the CAO's contract.
The investigation referenced is the second investigation into the CAO hiring process being done internally and is to address concerns raised about digital evidence.
It's been revealed through a series of investigations by the St. Catharines Standard that CAO Carmen D'Angelo admitted to seeking and receiving help from a member of Chair Alan Caslin's office while he was a candidate for the $230 thousand dollar a year job.
There have also been indications that an option to extend the CAO's contract 2 years was done without the knowledge of council.
Last week, a special session called by a majority of councillors to address similar concerns failed to find any answers.
D'Angelo and two staff members, implicated in the reports, were all no shows for last week's meeting.
It was later revealed D'Angelo was given the time off by Chair Alan Caslin.
Councillors ended that 6 hour meeting with a public statement saying they'd try again today for answers.
