Debate was shut down quickly last night at Regional Council over a motion questioning the finances of the town of Pelham.
The motion was introduced by Port Colborne councillor Dave Barrick who says Pelham’s ability to manage taxpayer money has resulted in a loss of public trust .
Before Pelham Mayor Dave Augustyn could speak to the motion, debate was shut down and the motion deferred to a June 12th committee meeting.
Augustyn later told reporters the issue is over several large ticket projects currently underway in the town including the $36 million dollar community centre.
The Mayor says the town has addressed local residents concerns, has been transparent adding a recent audit found no problems with their financial statements.
