People in Brampton will come together tonight to remember an 11 year old girl known for her sunny smile and fun-loving spirit.
Riya Rajkumar was the focus of an Amber Alert late last week after her father took her out for her birthday and never returned the girl to her mother.
Police found Riya's body during the early hours of Friday morning at a Brampton home, while her father was arrested in Orillia.
Nicole Cedrone with the Neighbourhood Watch Brampton says they will be hosting a vigil at Garden Square in Brampton tonight.
"I find when I talk to my fellow Bramptonians, they are angry, they're confused, this is incomprehensible. We're just so incredibly sad. That's the only way I can - I guess the main word I can use is just very, very sad."
The vigil will be held from 5:45 p.m. until 7 p.m. tonight.
Around 200 people also gathered near Riya's school earlier this week to say goodbye.
