A procession along the highway of heroes for a Niagara Falls man killed while fighting Islamic State militants in Syria will begin shortly.
Nazzareno Tassone was killed months ago in the war torn country.
His body was finally returned to Canada this month.
Members of the North Wall Riders motorcycle club, the Canadian Heroes Foundation and Kurdish community will lead the procession as it travels Highways 401, 403, the QEW, and 420 to St. Andrews Church in the fallsĀ for a 1:00 funeral.
His mother, Tina Martino says her son's memorial will take place exactly a year after he left home and exactly six months after his death.
She says the coincidence was a shock to discover.
