The wastewater treatment plant in Niagara Falls, New York under investigation for the black water incident could be linked to 14 other discharges since September.
The Department of Environmental Conservation is keeping a close eye on the plant as the investigation continues into the July sewage plume that turned the water black near the Maid of the Mist docks.
On Tuesday of this week another discharge pushed almost 3 million gallons of untreated sewage and storm water into waters near the base of the American Falls. That incident is being blamed on heavy rains.
But according to the Buffalo News data obtained through the Sewage Right-To-Know Law shows 14 previous overflows at that same location over the last year - 5 of those happening within the month of July.
Although overflows are common during heavy rain storms, the DEC is still probing deeper.
