A resident is poised to become Fort Erie's representative at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
The town accepted applications for the position for one week, and Leah Feor was the only applicant.
Speaking with CKTB's Tim Denis, Feor explains why she believes she is well suited for the position.
"So not only do I have a background in business, which taught me accounting - my specialization was in accounting - and a post grad in environmental management, but I've also studied non-profit governance."
Feor also says the board needs to be diverse.
"I really do believe that we need a really strong environmental science base, but we also need that financial understanding, governance understanding, we need someone who understands human resources really well, stakeholder engagement really well, because we need that broad scope across the board."
St. Catharines is also looking for a citizen to represent the city on the board. Applications are being accepted until Wednesday, November 28th at midnight.
