A retired police officer has been charged in Welland after an incident back in September.
The NRP were called on September 24th to the area of Moyer Road and Carl Road for a driving complaint.
Officers attended the scene and met with a man and woman who had each been driving their own vehicles.
As a result of the investigation, the male driver has been arrested and charged.
Edward Pittman of Welland is charged with personation of a police officer, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and criminal harassment.
Pittman was released from custody.
His next court date is December 30, 2016.
Pittman had been a police officer with the Niagara Regional Police Service for approximately 36 years.
He retired in May of 2012.
