More controversy surrounding the board of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
Post Media reporting this morning the board is under fire for a revised code of conduct for its members that would force them to pledge absolute loyalty to the agency.
A draft of the proposed revision obtained by the news agency says board members who fail to “demonstrate unconflicted loyalty to the interests of the NPCA” will be sanctioned or removed from the board.
Board Chair Sandy Annunziata tells the paper, the code drafted by Regional councillor Dave Barrick who is also the NPCA's director of corporate services, is in reponse to the censure of board member Bill Hodgson, also a regional councillor.
Hodgson was censured during a closed door meeting for allegedly doing something to undermine the bidding process involving the hiring of an auditor to review NPCA operations.
However, the media nor the public have been told what Hodgson did specifically to undermine the process.
The NPCA board will meet tomorrow to discuss changes to the code of conduct.
