Two people were charged during Niagara police RIDE checks Saturday night.
In Niagara Falls, three drivers were given breathalyzers and one registered a fail. That driver was arrested and given a three-day license suspension.
At the same location, another driver was charged under the Cannabis Act for driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
In St. Catharines, a designated driver was stopped with several passengers in the vehicle where police found an open bottle of liquor.
Police say they were "educated" about the proper storage on unsealed liquor.
Police note that many of the vehicles they stopped in the downtown area were driven by designated drivers.
