A Niagara Regional Police officer is listed in critical condition after being shot by a fellow officer.
It happened just after 12 o'clock Thursday afternoon in Pelham on Rolland Road at Effingham.

The SIU is investigating the case but won't confirm whether the other officer has been arrested or charged.
The 44 year old officer who was shot was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and as of Thursday evening was listed in critical condition at Hamilton General Hospital.
The SIU has assigned eight investigators and three forensic investigators to the case.
The St.Catharines Standard is identifying the officers involved as Constable Nathan Parker and Det. Sgt. Shane Donovan of the traffic collision reconstruction unit.
The area remains closed off to traffic.
