The rain didn't dampen the spirits of the 4,600 runners who took part in the annual Niagara Falls International Marathon.
David Savard-Gagnon, from Quebec ran the course from Buffalo to Table Rock in the falls, in a time of two hours, 30 minutes and 32 seconds to take top spot in the men's division.
Lindsay Moreau-Verlaan, from Sudbury, was the top female with a race time of three hours, 17 minutes and 28 seconds.
The marathon began in 1974 and served as the men’s US Olympic marathon trials in 1980 and 1984.
