Niagara on the Lake hydro warning customers their rates are on the way up.
The local hydro board sending out a release advising the Ontario Energy Board has approved an increase in the Rural and Remote Electricity Rate Protection Charge.
The board says the small increase will add another $8.00 to users yearly bills.
Board chair, Jim Ryan says they are lobbying the province "to deal with the underlying problem with rural distribution costs and to lower Hydro One costs so their rate increases are in line with smaller more efficient local distribution companies in Ontario."
