Niagara West-Glanbrook MPP Sam Oosterhoff is speaking out on school closures.
The 19 year old telling CKTB's Lee Sterry it's a huge issue and he's doing his best to bring the concerns of residents in Niagara to Queen's Park every chance he can.
Trustees with the District School Board of Niagara recently voted to amalgamate high schools in Beamsville, Grimsby and Smithville.
The three aging schools will close and a new large high school will be constructed.
Oosterhoff says he is concerned that high school students will be stuck on school buses for up to two hours a day.
He says while it maybe too late to save schools in West Niagara, he hopes to save some other schools in Ontario.
A petition has been launched to protest the school closures. You can find it by clicking here.
