Members of Save our Welland Hospital along with the Niagara and Ontario Health Coalition's will launch a series of events to ratchet up pressure on the province to save South Niagara's hospitals.
The group has a media conference set for Friday morning at 9:30 in front of the Welland hospital to announce the list of events they say are designed to put the issue of local hospital closures front and centre.
The province confirmed in its spring budget Niagara will get a new hospital to replace the Welland site and GNGH in Niagara Falls.
The city of Niagara Falls recently committed $11 million to purchase an additional 20 acres of land on the site of the new hospital at the corner of Montrose and Biggar Roads.
