A water sales scam is making the rounds in the Beamsville area.
The Town of Lincoln is urging customers to be cautious of a scam currently going through the community in which homeowners are being contacted by a door-to-door sales company making false claims about drinking water quality.
Homeowners are also advised that they need mandatory in-home filtration systems, and are asked to show the homes taps and plumbing.
Town officials say the tests and inspections conducted by these salespeople are misleading and the results do not represent the quality of Lincoln’s drinking water.
They say drinking water in the town meets strict provincial standards and is safe to drink.
