Ontario's Education Minister is commenting on the troubling situation in Toronto where a 14 yr old boy, believed to be abducted, wasn't reported absent from school.
Stephen Lecce tells CKTB's Tom McConnell there will be a review of the protocol at Newtonbrook Secondary School, and he is "100 percent" committed to student safety.
While Lecce would not go into detail, the Toronto District School Board says the family of Shammah Jolayemi wasn't told the boy didn't show up to school on Wednesday until that evening because his teachers missed a deadline.
Board Spokesperson Ryan Bird says four teachers at Newtonbrook Secondary School have been put on ``home assignment'' because their attendance data wasn't submitted before an 11 a.m. deadline.
The board says the incident is not a result of the work-to-rule campaign.
Police say they are ``extremely concerned'' for the safety of Shammah, who they believe was forced into a Jeep on Wednesday morning.
