Using drone technology the Niagara Parks Commission has been able to determine just how much the old scow in the upper Niagara River moved on Halloween night.
The NPC says one end of the scow, which has been stuck in the rapids above the Horseshoe Falls for 101 years, moved 33 metres and the other end another 43 metres.
Niagara Parks engineers are keeping a close eye on the old barge, but for now believe it is stuck in place.
If it looks like it is ready to go over the falls, the NPC say measures will be taken to ensure tourism in the area is protected.
