Shopping malls in small cities across Canada are bracing for the loss of some of their biggest tenants, as Sears Canada plans to close its remaining stores.
If a court approves the company's bid to liquidate 130 locations, it will have a major impact on shopping centres like the Heritage Place Mall in Owen Sound, Ontario.
Sears is one of the mall's largest occupants, employing more than 60 people in a roughly 65-hundred-square-metre space.
