Waterloo Regional Police say they plan to step up security at this year's Oktoberfest.
Chief Bryan Larkin says officers will be positioned in strategic areas to get a full view of crowds and access routes, and will have boom cameras at their command post to monitor activity.
But Larkin says terrorism doesn't top the list of public safety concerns for police.
He says he's more concerned about public intoxication and other alcohol-related incidents during the annual beer-drinking festival.
