The city of St. Catharines says there will be some service disruptions at Lakeside Park while crews work to rehabilitate the Port Dalhousie piers.
Crews will use the section of the Lakeside Park parking lot that’s closest to the west pier to store materials and equipment.
During the offseason, parking will be limited to about half of the Lakeside Park parking lot.
Free parking is available at other City parking lots and on-street meters within walking distance of Lakeside Park.
Visitors can also park at Ontario Jaycee Gardens Park, 543 Ontario St., and access Rennie Park and Lakeside Park via the pedestrian bridge.
Construction for this part of the project (west pier) is expected to be completed by April 2020.
Port Dalhousie's piers are owned by Fisheries and Oceans Canada, who closed them in 2015 for safety reasons.
In 2018, they awarded the contract to repair them to Bronte Construction, and work began in December.
The project is expected to be completed by March 2021.
