Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire Niagara Region.
The storm isn't expected to impact Niagara until closer to midnight but it could bring some localized flooding as well as a risk for an isolated tornado.
There is potential for wind gusts to 100 km/hr and large hail.
Brief torrential downpours and frequent lightning will also accompany some storms.
Forecasters say the storms will be localized and some places will not be affected.
